The Louisiana Anthology
Stephen M. Payne writes mystery/detective fiction. He earned his BA (British History) and his MA (Eighteenth-Century English Literature ) from Louisiana Tech University. He also attended Harvard Divinity School for the Master of Theological Studies program and the University of Southern Mississippi for the Master of Library and Information Sciences (full résumé here).
Stephen co-edits the Louisiana Anthology website, the internet’s largest collection of texts about the Pelican State. He also co-hosts the weekly Louisiana Anthology Podcast. As part of the project, Stephen found Liberty in Louisiana, the first play written about Louisiana in 1803. Stephen and Bruce and student volunteers edited the text, and in 2024, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Press published the book for the first time in 220 years.
